New Things

We have tried some new things in the past few weeks. The first one is the Jenny Jump Up. It's one of those jumper things you put in a doorway. Rebecca likes being able to "stand up" on her own. She can't jump or bounce herself yet but she does spin herself in circles. The best doorway to put it up in is our front closet/pantry. It's the only doorway besides the bedroom and bathroom doors. Plus it's the only doorway where I can be in the living room or kitchen and still be able to see her.

Bambi must be pretty epic when you're 4 months old!

We have also started feeding her SOLIDS! She wasn't too sure about the rice cereal at first but now she's feeling pretty ok with it. She likes it thicker and not thinned out a ton. That took some experimentation to find out. She's only had rice cereal up to this point but now that she's got the hang of it, I'll be trying some oatmeal baby cereal. We'll see how that goes!

Last but most definitely not least, IT'S WARM OUTSIDE! I can dress Rebecca in some of the new clothes we got for her to go to California. It's been too cold to put her in them up to this point. But yesterday and today, the temperature has been up in the mid 60's. We can play outside and not have to stay cooped up inside all day.

Ok so these aren't pictures of her outside. I forgot my camera. Oops. But these photos do showcase one of her spring outfits!

Some More Playtime

Since it's cold outside, we pretty much stay inside for the most part. So here's a look at what we do all day.

These are for Grandpa Mark. Plus, she looks just like Clinton did when he was little in these pictures with Minnie Mouse.

She loves to play on her play gym. She likes to kick the ladybug in the middle.

We bought her a little high chair that hooks on to a chair and some spoons so she could get used to them before we start her on solid foods. We put her in her high chair when we eat so one of us doesn't have to hold her and eat at the same time. She likes to sit up on her own. She's a very independent little person.

She's just so darn cute!

Recent Fun

Here are some photos of some recent playtime adventures:

Ok not playtime. But she fell asleep and I rolled her over onto my arm hoping it would wake her up but it failed.

Eating her rattle

Eating her hand

Can I fit both in my mouth?

Smiling at the camera

Just being cute

These are from earlier today:
A little blurry but still cute

Oh and by the way...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

Ode to My Sisters

...And my friends who might as well be my sisters. This morning I thought it would be a great idea to do a photo shoot. I figured it was time to bust out this little onesie in honor of all of you.

Sisters, Sisters
There were never such devoted sisters
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir,
I'm here to keep my eye on her

Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing

When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome,
She wore the dress and I stayed home

All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain or sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister, who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man

Bowling with a Baby

Last night we went to a bowling christmas party for Clinton's Dad's dental office. Rebecca was really good while we were there. Much better than at the Relief Society Christmas party a couple days earlier (I'll just say that she screamed through the entire little program they had. Enough said). She woke up and wanted to eat during the first game of bowling. So Clinton bowled for both of us while I fed Rebecca. For the first few frames of the second game, we traded Rebecca back and forth so we could both bowl. Then somehow this started happening...

Do you see the pink blanket in Clinton's arm? Yeah. That's the baby. He's literally bowling with the baby. And he bowls better while he's holding Rebecca. Kinda funny. His score was much better the second game. Another added bonus: she fell asleep while bowling. So if she's really fussy, all I have to do is go bowling.

Here are some more pics from last night:

Sweet Dreams

My little baby is a wiggler. Especially when she sleeps. She ends up with her hands in several different positions throughout her naps. These pictures are from a nap that is currently in progress. She's been asleep for about 45 minutes...

"Hide from mommy aka the Paparazzi"
"Ok I guess I'll let you take a picture."
 "Look Mom, I'm a ballerina!"
"This one's my favorite position. It's so comfy!"
I'm really not kidding. She sleeps like that alot of the time. This is not a rare occurrence.

Bathtime

Her first bath after she came home was a complete fail. We had to do a sponge bath since her umbilical cord hadn't fallen off yet. She absolutely hated it and screamed the entire time. In my head I was thinking, "Oh no. My child hates the water. Bathtime is going to be a nightmare." Luckily, her umbilical cord fell off the next day and for her next bath, we could attempt an actual bath. And now bathtime is fun! She loves the water. She is just so content to sit in the warm water.

The only part she fusses through is getting lotioned up.

And that's only for a minute.

And then she normally falls asleep. Bathtime is just so exhausting when you're 2 1/2 weeks old!
